Nissan Canton15 Years of Building Our Future in Mississippi
In 2001, Nissan took a chance on the Magnolia State. Together with our Mississippi friends and neighbors, we began a journey to turn an open field outside Canton into one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world. More than four million vehicles later, we celebrate our 15th anniversary — and we look forward to the next chapter in our Mississippi story.
For all that we have accomplished, we say “thank you” to our team members, our community and our state.
Our employees are clearly proud of the legacy they’ve started at Nissan Canton. Do you want to be part of our legacy? We’re currently hiring for production associates who have imagination, inspiration and unique ideas.
15 Years of Great People Building Great Vehicles
Fifteen years ago, Nissan saw an opportunity to bring a new industry rich with opportunity to Mississippi. The result? We’ve transformed our state into a hub for world-class automotive manufacturing, creating more than 6,500 jobs for team members at the plant with great pay and benefits, and more than 25,000 direct and indirect jobs statewide.
During the past 15 years, we’ve celebrated many successes. The Canton Team is entrusted with building some of the most innovative cars and trucks in the Nissan fleet. And we just saw our 4 millionth vehicle roll off the line — after hitting the 3 millionth mark only two and a half years ago. We are grateful for our success which is driven by a talented team of dedicated, passionate professionals who are committed to excellence.
15 Years of Caring for Our Communities
The hard work of our team members goes well beyond the walls of the plant. We’ve established ourselves as a strong community partner. Since 2003, our community partners have received more than $15 million in charitable contributions and more than 8,000 volunteer hours from the Canton team. At Nissan, we firmly believe in enriching people’s lives and supporting the communities we call home.
In our schools, we’re making sure Mississippi’s children receive the education and skills needed to succeed in the modern workplace and power the state’s economy for decades to come.
In our neighborhoods, we’re working with local groups, such as Habitat for Humanity, to make our communities better, more beautiful places to live.
Thank You for 15 Years —
and what is yet to come!
After 15 years, we’re still as excited to call Mississippi home as we were on day one. As Nissan Canton continues working towards Building Our Future, we extend our sincerest gratitude to everyone who has played a part in our success!
